Vendor Spotlight: Lana’s Shop

Vendors

Today on the blog is a vendor spotlight of Lana’s Shop! She’s an incredible illustrator and paper goods designer! She designed all the stationary for the Rusti Styled Shoot that you can find here. She’s the sweetest and the best at what she does! Take a few moments to get to know her better by reading below!

What’s your favorite Starbucks drink? Americano…but I’m also a big fan of making coffee each morning at home with our french press.

How did you get started? How long have you been in business, etc?
I started at Vogue as a Graphic Designer. After a while, colleagues began asking me to design and illustrate cards for the staff and special gifts for all sorts of occasions. Through word of mouth this took off and after six years in the corporate world, I knew starting my own custom illustration business was what I’ve always wanted. I packed my bags in 2012 and moved to to Colorado where I set up a studio in my Denver home, and dedicated myself full time to Lana’s Shop. It’s been an incredibly exciting adventure and I’m loving every moment of it!

What’s your favorite thing about your business? There is no greater feeling than seeing a client’s delight when a project is complete! Plus, I get to paint for a living, which is what I adore doing. Everyday I pinch myself for how lucky I am.

What advice do you have for brides when booking a vendor like yourself? Spend time on the stationery vendor’s website to make sure you feel a connection to his/her work, style and personality. You want to work with people with whom you can easily communicate and who genuinely care about making your suite as special as possible.

How far out should a bride book you? I suggest booking at least 1-2 months prior to when you want your ‘save the dates’ mailed out, and 3-4 months for your invitations.

Do you travel for weddings? So far, I’ve never been asked to travel for a wedding (not to say I wouldn’t). My clients are from all over the country and we are able to communicate well between the phone, skype and email.

Anything else you want to share?
Designing your stationery suite should be a really fun part of your wedding process. Invitations are the first thing your guests will see, and set the tone and mood for the big day. When you look back, years from now on your save the day, invites, menus, placecards, you want to smile on them as a keepsake. I want each couple to create what is uniquely and wonderfully them!

You can see more of her work and get in touch with on her website here!
